Box Tops for Education; Lower School Tardy Policy; Dates to Remember

Lower School Late Check-In/Early Check-Out Policy: If the lower school doors are closed when you drop your student off, they must be signed in at the office by a parent or guardian. Students who are not signed in will receive an automatic unexcused tardy.
 
Any student checking out before 3:10 will be issued a tardy. Students will be called from class after they have been checked out through the office.
 
Four unexcused late check-ins or early check-outs will be counted as one day absence. 
 
Please refer to the student handbook for additional information about tardies or absences.
 
Box Tops for Education:  Help our school earn money through Box Tops for Education! Cut out your box tops and send them to your child’s teacher as soon as possible. Earn your volunteer hours by helping to organize, cut and count box tops.  If you would like to help, please email Becca White at becca21white@gmail.com.  
 
Concession Volunteers Needed: Earn your family’s volunteer hours and support the Eagles by volunteering in our football and volleyball concession stands.

Understanding Generation Z and more

Carson’s Corner: During Parent Orientation, Mr. Carson spoke about raising and educating the current generation. It was important information for every parent and it’s also material he’ll refer back to as the year goes along. You can see the slides and video he used here
Concession Volunteers Needed: Earn your family’s volunteer hours and support the Eagles by volunteering in our football and volleyball concession stands.

Lower School Parent Orientation Forms: Lower school parent orientation forms were due August 20th. If you have not yet returned your forms, please do so as soon as possible. It is very important that we have up to date information for all students.
Lower School Dress Code Change: The following change has been made to the girls dress code in the Lower School Handbook:  Sweater/Jackets - the following has been added:  
  • Traditional crew neck, v-neck or cardigan sweaters in gray, navy, red or white may be worn with the uniform (no longer than hip length).
Afternoon pick-up at the Upper School Campus:  To help with after school pick-up traffic, please follow these guidelines: left lane for moving traffic only (students should not load in a car in the left lane); right lane for line pick-up.  Please park in “Row A” in the open parking spaces in the parking lot if you need to wait for an extended period of time.

Conway Christian will be playing in the Hooten’s Classic again this year. The #5 ranked Eagles will take on class 4A Bauxite this coming Saturday August, 25th at NLR High’s new stadium. Kickoff is set for 10AM so grab some donuts and come out to support the team. 
 
Tickets cost $7 each. If tickets are purchased before the day of the game our athletic program receives a large portion of each sale, so it’s important to get your tickets from the school. Tickets can be purchased in the Upper School office or in the Eagle’s Nest Store. 
 
Go Eagles and see you on Saturday!!!

Early Dismissal Reminder; Pizza Lunch Orders Due; Spirit Day Dress Code

Early Dismissal Today: The lower school will dismiss at 11:45 today. The upper school will dismiss at 12:00Tomorrow will be our first full day of school. The lower school hours are 8:10-3:10 with doors opening at 7:45 and the upper school hours are 7:55-3:15 with doors opening at 7:30.
 
Lunch Orders: The first Booster Club pizza lunch will be served tomorrow. You may order tomorrow’s pizza lunch through your RenWeb ParentsWeb account until 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. Little Bites lunches are now available for ordering for dates through the end of September. Little Bites turns off ordering each morning around 8 A.M. Please check your email from the Eagle Weekly for instructions on setting up your account with Little Bites. 
 
Spirit Day Dress Code: Beginning this Friday, each Friday will be Conway Christian Spirit Day! Lower and upper school students will be allowed to wear jeans or uniform shorts and a Conway Christian shirt purchased from The Eagle’s Nest, our on campus store. The Eagle’s Nest will be open during pick-up time today for you to purchase your Spirit Day t-shirts. Normal Eagle’s Nest hours are Monday,Wednesday and Friday during drop-off and pick-up times. The store is located at the lower school in the preschool hallway.
 
Football Volunteers Needed: Show your support for the Eagles by signing up here to volunteer at one of our home games. 
 
Scrimmage Football Game: Our varsity football team will take on Gurdon for a pre-season scrimmage at 7:00 p.m. this Friday night at home on Mission Field.
 
Hooten’s Classic: CCS Eagles vs Bauxite in the Hooten’s Classic Kick-off!  Come out and support the Eagles on Saturday, August 25th at 10:00 a.m. at North Little Rock High School. Tickets are on sale for $7 at the Upper School office and the Eagle’s Nest.
 

Important Dates Reminder; Lunch Information

First Week of School Important Events:
 
Sunday, August 12th: We will join together for a night of worship and prayer. This event will be held in the gymnasium and everyone is invited. It starts at 6:00 p.m. and will last about an hour. The purpose of this night will be, as a school family, to pray for our upcoming school year and worship our Lord and Savior who is the reason we exist as a Jesus focused, college preparatory school.
 
Monday, August 13th: Parent orientation will be held in the gymnasium beginning at 6:00 p.m. Hear from Mr. Carson regarding the progress of our summer projects, focus for this year and other important need to know items for the 2018-19 school year. Afterwards, we will have times in the lower and upper school to visit with teachers and see classrooms.
 
Tuesday, August 14th: Our open house is a time for students to bring supplies to the classroom, meet classmates and basically get ready for the first day of school. The open house is from 10:00-12:00. School offices will close at 12:30 p.m.
 
Wednesday, August 15thThis is the first day of school! We will begin at our normal start times on both campuses. The lower school hours are 8:10-11:45 with doors opening at 7:45. The upper school hours are 8:00-12:00 with doors opening at 7:30.

Thursday, August 16thThis is the first full day of school! The lower school hours are 8:10-3:10 with doors opening at 7:45 and the upper school hours are 8:00-3:15 with doors opening at 7:30.
 
Lunch Information: The first Booster Club pizza lunch will be served on Thursday, August 16th.  RenWeb is open for ordering pizza and Chick-Fil-A lunches. The first Little Bites Catering lunch will be served on Friday, August 17th.  The Little Bites website is open for ordering.

First Week of School Important Events:
