Chili Supper at first home Basketball Game; Choir Performance; Lunch Orders Due; Dates to Remember

Chili Supper: This coming Tuesday, at our first home basketball game, we will have a chili supper fundraiser. All proceeds go to benefit the athletic department. The girls and boys will take on our cross-town rivals St. Joe and our jump rope team will perform at halftime. We need more pots of chili for the event! Choir Performance: Come out and support our choir as they perform at the Conway Regional Tribute Tree lighting ceremony Thursday, November 30, at 5:30pm. The ceremony will be held at Conway Regional, the East entrance fountain.
 
Lunch Orders: Lunches for the dates including December 4 - December 19 are now open for ordering. Lunches for the week including December 4 - 8 will close at the end of Thursday, November 30. Due to the short ordering time, lunches for December 11 - 19 will remain open for ordering until the end of the day on December 7. Also. volunteers are needed to assist with lunches. Eagles Nest: Come by and check out our Christmas Blowout Sale happening now. We have reduced many items to clearance. You will also receive 10% off your total purchase when you buy in store. If you are not able to make it into the store, you can still get the clearance pricing by clicking on the Eagles Nest link. We will be glad to send those items home with your student. If you are buying Christmas gifts, just let us know and we will send the items home in a covered package.

Friday Night Football; Terra Nova Tests; Bowl-a-thon Results

Friday Night Football: The Eagles will take on the Mountainburg Dragons at home in second round playoff action. Game time is set for 7:00. Cost of admission is $6. Every fan, adult and student (ages 5 and up), must purchase a ticket. Only Arkansas Activity Association passes are accepted. Per AAA rules, no other passes including booster club member and sponsor passes are accepted for playoff games. Come out and support the high flying Eagles this Friday night at Mission Field. Let’s pack the stands!
 
Concession Stand Volunteers Needed: We still need volunteers to work the concession stand at tomorrow night’s game. Please sign up here if you can help.
 
Terra Nova Test (2016-17): Last year’s standardized test results are being sent home with students. Upper school students received them last week. Lower school students are receiving them today. If you have any questions please contact your teacher or the school office. ACSI, our accrediting agency, has apologized for the extremely late return of test scores from last year. This has impacted hundreds of schools all across the country. They have assured participating schools the problem has been corrected and future exams will be processed in a timely manner.
 
Bowl-a-thon results: Our Bowl-a-thon fundraiser was a huge success once again this year. Thanks to your generosity we raised $20,055. Art Department Needs: Our Art Department is accepting donations of recycled metal objects. Objects such as old watches and cheap jewelry, silverware, springs, tin cans, bottle caps and wire can be turned into beautiful sculptures by our creative students! You may send your donated objects to the Upper School office. Please make sure objects do not have any shards or unsafe materials before donating. Playoff Game Details

Home Playoff Game:
Tonight the #4 ranked Eagles host the Cross County Thunderbirds in the first round of the Class 2A state playoffs. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm. Cost for admission is $6 (students and adults). Children 4 and under are free. Only Arkansas Activity Association passes are accepted. No other passes are accepted for playoff games, this includes booster club members and sponsors. Everyone must purchase a ticket per AAA rules. We look forward to a fantastic evening cheering on the Eagles. Come pack the stands and let’s cheer our team onto victory.

Early Dismissal Today; Home Playoff Game; Lunch Order Deadline

Early Dismissal Today: We will dismiss early today for our scheduled teacher professional development meeting. Lower School will dismiss at 1:10 and Upper School at 1:20. Extended care will be open for students enrolled in the program.

Lunch Order Deadline: Lunch orders for the weeks including November 13th - December 1st will close at the end of the day today.
 
Yearbook Order Deadline: The deadline to order a yearbook has been extended to this Friday, November 10. The price is $45. Checks may be made payable to CCS Yearbook and turned in to the Lower School office.
 
Operation Christmas Child: Conway Christian students will once again participate in OCC, which ministers to children all over the world. A Collection box has been placed at the entrance of the lower school campus. Students in 7th through 12th grade are being challenged as a grade to pack and pay for the shipping of at least 10 boxes. Upper school grades have a sponsor teacher who is organizing this activity. The cost of shipping a box has increased to $9/box. Money can be donated at both offices. The deadline to drop off supplies or money is November 16.
An important change has been made to packing items this year: no toothpaste or candy.
 
Below is a list of suggested items:
school supplies: pens, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, sharpeners, coloring books, small notebooks, erasers, solar calculators
hygiene items: toothbrushes, combs, washcloths, bar soap (no liquid)
toys/accessories: socks, shirts, hats, hair bands/clips, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries), toy cars, jump ropes, small stuffed animals, balls, yo-yos, harmonicas, dolls (fully clothed) *nothing military, no play money, no plastic snakes*

Operation Christmas Child: Conway Christian students will once again participate in OCC, which ministers to children all over the world. A Collection box has been placed at the entrance of the lower school campus. Students in 7th through 12th grade are being challenged as a grade to pack and pay for the shipping of at least 10 boxes. Upper school grades have a sponsor teacher who is organizing this activity. The cost of shipping a box has increased to $9/box. Money can be donated at both offices. The deadline to drop off supplies or money is November 16.

Veteran’s Day Chapel: We invite you to join our 1st - 12th grade students at 9:30am Wednesday, November 8 in the gym for a special chapel honoring our veterans. Our guest speaker will be Sgt. Dwight Witcher, the Upper School choir and Girl’s Ensemble will bring special music and we will recognize the veterans of our community.

Early Dismissal: Wednesday, November 8 will be early dismissal for teacher/staff professional development. Full day Lower School students will be dismissed at 1:10pm and Upper School will be dismissed at 1:20pm. Extended Care will be provided for students registered for our extended care program.

Lunch Orders: Lunch orders for the weeks including November 13th - December 1st are now open for ordering. Lunch orders will close at the end of the day Wednesday, November 8th. Please remember to check with your child's teacher regarding special lunch activities in celebration of Thanksgiving.
