Eagle Fest Details, Testing Reminder, Dessert & Coffee Seats Available

Eagle Fest: To clarify, Eagle Fest is a free event to attend hosted by our athletic booster club. There will be games and food (burgers, hot dogs and crawfish). The only upfront costs are if you’d like to eat crawfish ($35) or order a T-shirt ($10). All other food can be purchased at concession stand prices the day of the event. There will be numerous activities for the kids that are free for them to participate. We look forward to seeing everyone next Saturday, April 6th from 12:00-3:00 PM. 
 
Standardized Testing: Next week 1st-10th graders will be taking their annual standardized tests. As parents please reinforce to the kids that this is not a week for anxiousness or stress. We are a school that doesn’t “teach” to our testing. This is strictly for us to see what the students have learned and how we can assist them moving forward into next year. We will do our best to make this a good experience with some down time in the afternoons and plenty of encouragement for their great efforts. 
 
Dessert & Coffee Night Seats Available: A few seats have become available for Let’s Go to the Movies this Saturday night. If you would like to reserve seats, please contact Donna Bradley at dbradley@conwaychristianschool.net. 
 
 
 
 

 

Morning with Moms; Terra Nova Testing; Coffee and Dessert with the CCS Choir

Morning with Moms: We invite all CCS moms, grandmothers and mother figures to join us for donuts and coffee this Friday morning from 7:45 - 8:30 am. Refreshments will be in the commons at the Upper School, and in the classroom hallways at the Lower School.
 
Choir Performance: Reservations are currently full for the second annual Dessert and Coffee night. If you would like to be on the waiting list to see Let’s Go to The Movies this Saturday night, please contact Donna Bradley at dbradley@conwaychristianschool.net. 
 
Terra Nova Testing: Terra Nova testing will be next week. Students in 1st - 11th grade will be testing until their lunch break. Please do not schedule appointments during testing times. Absences should be emergencies only. It is very important for students to be here on time each day. To help students do their very best on their tests, they should get plenty of rest each night, eat a healthy breakfast each morning and bring a healthy snack to school. Thank you for your help in each of these areas.

Lower School Spirit Day Volunteers Needed: There will be a meeting for anyone who would like to volunteer to help with Lower School Spirit Day immediately following Morning with Moms this Friday morning. For more information, please contact Katie Henry at  katielinnhenry@gmail.com.

Run with Mr. Carson and raise money for CCS

Mark your calendars! The 11th annual Kids Run Arkansas will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. This event is presented by Conway Regional Health and Fitness Center. The top schools with the highest percentage of registration will be awarded scholarships for their physical education program.  
 
In preparation for Kids Run Arkansas, Mr. Carson and several other volunteers will begin a training program for those who are interested in participating. Kids will practice in either a 1 mile or 3 mile course from 3:30-4:30 on the following dates: March 26, April 2, and April 9. Students in K4-6th grade are invited to attend.  If your child is in K4-1st grade, a parent or guardian must accompany the child during the practices.

Click HERE for the registration form for the Kids Run Arkansas race. Please complete the form and return it to the Lower School office, along with your check made payable to Conway Regional Health and Fitness Center, as soon as possible. We will turn all registration forms and money in as a school.  Students must register for the Kids Run Arkansas race to participate in the training program. 
 
The CCS class with the highest percentage of participation will receive an extra recess and popsicle party! This is a great opportunity to make our year theme a reality. Let’s run the race to win the prize!
 

Lower School Early Checkout During Matinee Performance; Early Dismissal this Friday and more

Lower School Early Checkout During Matinee Performance: Due to all K5 - 6th grade students being in the gym between 1:00 - 3:00 for the play tomorrow, please check your child out before 12:50 if you will need early checkout. 
 
Drama Club Spring Play: The CCS Drama Club has been working hard over the past few months on their spring production of The Best in the West, a western comedy. We are pleased to present a matinee performance to our lower school students tomorrow at 1:00 pm free of charge. If elementary parents would like to attend that show with their child, they may do so by paying $5 at the door. We would also like to invite everyone to come out to our 7:00 pm show Thursday evening for the same cost of admission.
 
Early Dismissal: We will have early dismissal this Friday, March 15.  Lower School will dismiss at 11:45 am.  Upper School will dismiss at noon.
 
No Extended Care this Friday: There will be no Extended Care after early dismissal this Friday.
 
Lost and Found:  There will be a lost and found table outside the Upper School office and items hanging in the main hallway at the Lower School for the next 3 days. Please feel free to come by and look through the items.  Also, please encourage your child to look through the items as well.  All items not claimed by Friday will be donated.

Spring Play, Kanakuk KampOut and more

Drama Club Spring Play: The CCS Drama Club has been working hard over the past few months on their spring production of The Best in the West, a western comedy. We are pleased to present a matinee performance to our lower school students next Thursday at 1:00 pm free of charge. If elementary parents would like to attend that show with their child, they may do so by paying $5 at the door. We would also like to invite everyone to come out to our 7:00 pm show Thursday evening for the same cost of admission.
