End of the School Year

May 13, 2020
By Eagle Weekly
We’ve almost made it! The end of this school year will be one we will never forget.
Thanks to COVID-19 we’ll basically just turn the power off on our devices and zoom off to summertime! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school. We will remain open, ready to serve, throughout the summer. Our office hours are Tuesday-Thursday 9-3.

Prayers for Next Year: As a school community this time has certainly been one of unification and partnership. We have succeeded because we teamed up in a time of uncertainty. Our accomplishments should be celebrated but also acknowledged as choreographed by God. As we enter the summer and look toward August, we need to seek the Lord in prayer as uncertainty will surely be an issue for all schools as we begin next school year. Through prayer and faith in Him we will begin again, our anxieties will be subdued and our daily interactions with those we love will be renewed.

Upper and Lower School Closeouts: Next week we will have students and parents on campus to turn in school equipment and pick up personal belongings. Communication has gone out to give guidance on how and when you should come on campus. If you have any questions, please contact the school’s office.

Graduation for Seniors: Due to COVID-19 we were required to reschedule our graduation to a later date. We have set that date for Saturday, July 11th at Antioch Baptist. Please join us in praying for our seniors and this special day. Guidelines for graduation (crowd size, etc.) will be communicated closer to the event date.

Kindergarten Celebration Parade: We are excited for our kindergarten students to experience an on campus parade in lieu of their normal on campus event. The parade of cars (kindergarten students and families) will begin at 11:00 this Saturday, May 16th.

Summer Recommendations: School administration strongly recommends students spend time working on staying sharp in their main subject areas this summer. Reading for leisure, spending time on math facts and any grade appropriate learning should be considered as we want to make sure students are well prepared for the fall. If you have questions on what to do please don’t hesitate to ask a teacher or principal for guidance.

Book Lists and Supply Lists: Book lists and school supply lists for the 2020-21 school year are posted under the Eagle Life tab on the CCS website under Back to School Information or click HERE.

Census: Our local government officials have asked for our help in reminding our parents to fill out the current census information. The census can be taken online or my mail. If you haven’t finished your census please go online and find out how to do so before the deadline.
