Family Night; Tailgate Night; Bowl-A-Thon

September 26, 2017
By Eagle Weekly
Family Night: Tonight is Conway Christian’s first Family Night of the year. There will be no homework assigned to give your family the opportunity to spend time together in fellowship. Post your family night pictures on social media using the hashtag #weareconwaychristian.

A Message from the Conway Police Department: The Conway Police Department has informed us that they have begun patrolling the school zones on East German Lane. They will be writing tickets to drivers who are speeding, using their cell phones in a school zone or not wearing a seatbelt.
*Please note Arkansas Code 27-51-1609 states “…a driver of a motor vehicle shall not use a handheld wireless telephone while operating a motor vehicle when passing a school building or school zone during school hours when children are present.”

Tailgate Night: This Friday, September 29, the Eagles take on the Hector Wildcats at Mission Field - game time starts @ 7:00 p.m. Beforehand Eagle nation will get the evening started with a tailgate celebration! Tailgate time will be 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to participate and enjoy!
Tailgate specifics:
  • Set-up begins at 1:00 p.m.
  • Tents/trucks can be set-up on the back two rows of the upper school parking lot--(rows C & D). We will not use the gravel parking lot this year.
  • Participants are responsible for providing all needed items for their tailgate: tables, chairs, trash bags, tents, electricity, extension cords, grills, ice, etc. (school is not responsible for electrical hook-ups or for providing items for set-up)
  • Space needs to be cleaned up by 6:45 p.m.
Bowl-a-thon: We are excited to announce that the annual Lower School Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser will take place at Conway Family Bowl on Thursday, October 5th. This fundraiser is sponsored by the PTF, and all money raised will help support the library, teacher education, student events and various school projects.
The PTF’s goal is for each student (K-6th grade) to raise at least $100.00 in pledges.
Pledge forms and money should be returned to the student’s teacher by Tuesday, October 3.
If you own a business or know of a business that would like to sponsor a lane for the day, please contact Katie Henry (katielinnhenry@gmail.com) or Felissa Scott (felissa.scott@gmail.com).
An information sheet with additional details and a pledge form were sent home with each student last week.

Lunch Orders: Lunch orders for the weeks including October 2nd - October 13th are now open for ordering. Lunch orders will close at the end of the day on September 28th. Please remember to check your child's schedule for field trips that may be occurring during this time period, as lunch orders are non-refundable.

Lunch Volunteers Needed: We are in need of one volunteer at each campus each day to assist with lunches. Please consider signing up to help even if you do not purchase hot lunches for your child. To help with lunches during the month of October, you can sign up here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080849a9a62fa1fa7-october.

Eagles Nest: New items have arrived! Come by the Lower School and check out the new sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets and hats we’ve added, or click on the Eagles Nest link and purchase everything you need. Items purchased online will be sent home with your student. The Eagles Nest will also be selling merchandise at the tailgate party this Friday night.
